The Union vélocipédique de France is the forerunner of the French Cycling Federation. It was founded on February 6, 1881 in Paris at the Café Le Marengo. Its first president was Parisian Paul Devilliers. The UVF became the Fédération française de cyclisme on December 20, 1940.
