Emile Georget and Emile Friol (known as "Les Deux Emiles") were stars of the French bicycle world of the 1910s. Georget competed in road races, and Friol took on sprints. Both would have been recognizable to the average person on the street, making it important for us to see their detailed portraits in this poster as they race around a track.
La Française Diamant was still in the headlines in 1910, and by using the tricolour brand, Emile Friol and Emile Georget were sure to fill up... It was 1910, Friol was no longer with Peugeot, yet he was once again world, European and French speedway champion. As for Georget, that same year, he too was French champion, hence the two tricolour jerseys for the tricolour brand (a
apothéose), and as a bonus, he won his first
Bordeaux-Paris.

Emile Friol et Emile Georget ont fait le plein à coup sûr...Nous sommes en 1910, Friol n'est plus chez Peugeot, et pourtant il est à nouveau champion du monde, d'Europe et de France de vitesse. Quant à Georget, cette même année, lui aussi est champion de France, d'où les deux maillots tricolores pour la marque tricolore (une apothéose), et en prime, il décroche son premier Bordeaux-Paris.
